Are you starting to feel like your space needs some sprucing up?
If you are like me, sometimes you just want your home looking fresh and new. But how? Can you really accomplish this seemingly impossible feat without spending a ton of money replacing furniture? The answer is, yes you can! I have found a way to simplify the process so that you (and your wallet) are happy campers!
Follow these easy and budget friendly steps and you are sure to feel better about the space around you!
Wash Your Windows
You would be be surprised how much cleaning your windows improves your space! Especially with the sun shining through and bringing in all the natural light!
If you have been following me on social media, you will see that I am all about the greenery! I love adding plants to any space, as it gives a fresh feel to the room. Even though most of my plants are fake, it still adds that extra element to the space.
Replace Your Toss Pillows
Now I am not stranger to how much pillows can cost. They surprisingly can be very expensive! It does depend on where you get them though! I usually will wait for them to go on sale, dig in Target’s clearance aisle or go to TJ Maxx or Ross. Getting one or two pillows that you can switch out, will make different colors pop in your space and can really make a difference in making it feel fresh and new!
Switch Your Decor Around
Sometimes it takes just using what you already have! Chances are you have some cute stuff hidden in your garage that you forget about, (I do this all the time) or you can make your space feel fresh and new by switching your current decor around. I switch out out my decor seasonally by adding pop here and there and it keeps things feeling new.
Re-arrange Your Furniture
I know what they say, it’s all about the fen shui. Those of you who do not know what that means, the purpose of feng shui according to the Chinese, is to get your environment in alignment with who you are and where you want to go. That being said, there is a certain way furniture should be arranged to add a “flow” to the space. However, it should be functional and stylish. The same rule applies here as I said before with the decor, use what your currently have and switch pieces from other rooms. I can’t even count how many times I was surprised when I started playing around with the furniture and turned around to see a see a new and refreshed space!
Painting takes a little more effort and choosing a paint color is not for the weak in heart! But it always amazes me what a little paint can do to a space! It can completely change the look and vibe to the room. And even though you had to use some elbow grease to get it done, I’m confident you will take a look after your done and be pleased with the result!
I hope these tips help you in the future when your are feeling the itchy shopping bug or the home decor woes. We have all been there!
